What’s for Tea this week?! Does anybody else dread the task of meal planning. My boys have become so fussy recently it’s so hard to cater for everyone. But let’s hope this suits everyone this week:
MONDAY – Sausage, mash and peas
TUESDAY – Spaghetti and Meatballs
WEDNESDAY – Sweet & Sour Chicken and Rice & Veg
THURSDAY – Pasta Bake &Veg
FRIDAY – Tuna Steaks & Vegetable Rice
SATURDAY – Gammon Steaks, Egg and Chips
SUNDAY – Pork Chops and New Potatoes & Veg
Its been a busy week but the weekend finally came and we’ve had a chance to recharge our batteries and have some fun!
Here’s my first Sunday photo:
This was taken at a posh restaurant, chocolate brownie, toasted marshmallow and ice cream! It was yummy!
(Now I’ve posted this I want another!)
So a slow cooker is a must when you are a busy working mum!
Just chuck everything in, turn it on and off you go for the day. On your return a great home cooked meal all ready for you.
My favourite dish has to be slow cooked gammon joint in cherry cola. It’s pulls apart and melts in your mouth and tastes amazing!
Today I made chunky beef chilli. I even had compliments from the husband!
So being on maternity leave means being frugal! The last few months I’ve been shopping at aldi and I love it! You can get so much for your money and it still tastes great. My shopping bill has gone from £90-100 to just £60 a week. With bear now eating whatever we eat, I’ve had to start meal planning better. I never really did it before and just cooked what we fancied on the day but obviously that was the cause of my overspending as we just had too much in the house!
After looking at the offers, this is what our meal plan looks like this week:
Monday: pork chops, sweet potato mash and carrots
Tuesday: chunky beef chili and rice (and veg)
Wednesday: breaded cod, chips and peas
Thursday: sausage, mash and beans
Friday: lasagne and homemade bread
Saturday: take out
Sunday: Sunday roast (turkey)
