Mothercare Sale Haul

My boys desperately need a wardrobe overhaul! With spring finally here, we needed a bit of colour in our lives. The Mothercare sale started today and so I thought I’d show you what I got.

Blue Joggers – £3.50

Red vegetable top – £3

Yellow caterpillar top – £2

Pants – £1 a packet

There was a lot more I could have bought but the sizes available were hit or miss! Happy shopping!

Boden, John Lewis and Zara haul

Today I had my first experience of a boden clearance event! It wasn’t pleasant! There was about 200 people in the queue in front of me. So 25 minutes after the doors opened I finally got in to find the children’s section empty. Why? Well the people at the fro t of the queue had literally poured the contents of the clothing into their baskets and huddled to the side deciding what they wanted to keep. Anything they discarded on the floor was quickly whipped up by passing greed! No doubt it will all be on eBay soon as I overheard someone was there to simply resell on at higher prices!

So I didn’t get too much. It was badly organised and I don’t think I’ll go again.

I did get a couple of bargains though and afterwards wandered into town to John Lewis and Zara.

First picture:

  • Boden boys tshirt 6-7y – £8
  • Boden dungarees 2-3y – £4
  • Clarks doodles (John Lewis) – £12
  • Boden boots – size 9 – £5

Second picture:

  • Boden swimsuit size 18 – £10

Third picture:

  • Zara jumper 3-4y – £5.99
  • Zara t shirt 3-5y – £1.99

Charity Shop Haul

So it’s been a while! Life got busy and priorities changed. But I’m back.

After school today we ventured up to the village and looked in a couple of charity shops.

Here’s our little haul:

Usbourne See inside Your Body -£2  (we love these books, lift the flap with lots of information, we have a small collection of these ‘encyclopaedia’ type books for young children)

Mr Bounce – 25p (dudes favourite books at the moment are mr men)

Dear Greenpeace – 50p (written by a local author who visited dudes school recently)

Usbourne noisy Knights – £1 (beat loves noisy books but the ones we have he has ruined as they are paper pages, this is board so hopefully can’t be damaged!)

Cinderellas bum – 50p (funny story book by an it hor we like)

The Giants loo roll – 50p (same author)

…..

We love books so this was a great little find. Highly recommend getting books from charity shops as they are a fraction of the price.

Theres lots of sales on at the moment so I had a little spending spree..oops! Dont tell the hubby! Heres what  bought in Argos, Lidl, Mothercare and Primark.

Our trip to Legoland and Haul!

DSCF4661

The summer holidays have begun! This week we took a road trip to Legoland, hoping that some of the schools had yet to break up and it would be a bit quieter. Luckily I was right!
We had a brilliant 2 days here and both children were worn out at the end of the day. I loved that it was geared at young ages and that Bear at only 13.5 months old could go on some rides. Earlier in the year we took a trip to Disneyland Paris and he was more or less stuck in his pram as nothing was age appropriate.
The lego figures were amazing and must have taken ages to build! They definitely have some skilled ‘workers’ there.

Dude’s favourite ‘ride’ of the whole trip was the amazing water play areas. It was 22-24 degrees whilst we were there and so these were a much needed way to cool off! He also loved the driving school and squid surfer!

Daddy wanted to go on some of the ‘older’ rides but unfortunately when we got to these areas, the queues were at 75 minutes so we skipped them and hopefully next time we visit Dude will be big enough to ride them aswell.

We didnt really watch any of the shows. We started to watch the Friends to the rescue show in Heartlake City but to be honest we all got bored and moved on.

The rides I would definitely recommend are:

  • Atlantis (A submarine aquarium ride with no age restrictions)
  • Duplo valley Water Play Area and Drench Towers
  • Driving School
  • Fire Academy
  • Heartlake City Express (Great view of the park)

At the end of our day we of course hit the The Big Lego Shop! So here is our little haul. One item I said to Dude on the way in….. oops!

What did we get?

  • Legoland Magnet (To add our to collection of places we have been!) – £1.99
  • Batman Keyring (Daddy chose this) – £3.99
  • 3 x pack of Mixels (Season 5 + 4) – £2.99 each
  • Duplo Boat Set (For Bear!) – £12.99
  • Lego Classic Board – £6.99
  • Lego Classic Box – £19.99
  • Marvel Super Heroes Hulk Bash/Ironman – £17.99
  • Marvel Super Heroes Mini Ironman Set – £9.99

All in all, I would definitely visit Legoland again, its great for all ages and loads to do come rain or shine!

Spring fashion for a mummy!

Yes back to spring again! The sun is shining here and I can’t wait for spring to arrive properly!
I had money still to spend from Christmas so went and did a bit of retail therapy for myself.

First thing I wanted was some nice dresses to wear with leggings or without as it got warmer in summer.
I picked this one up in the New Look sale for just £5!

Fits great and long enough to wear without leggings aswell.

Next on to primark and picked up this lovely dress. It wasn’t till I got home that I realised I had pinned a very similar dress on Pinterest that I wanted for the summer! This was £13.

Also from primark I got some thin blouse type tops and some white cami tops to wear underneath. These were £10 each and £3 for the cami.

I also picked up some cotton ankle length leggings for £3

My best buy in primark was some high waisted black skinny jeans. I have never been able to get into primark skinny jeans, I am a size 16 and my legs never got very far. But these are great. Being high waisted they hold everything in and makes me look a good few inches smaller. I don’t have a picture as I’ve worn them and they are in the wash but will update in a later post with them. They were £13 and there were various blue colours aswell.

Finally I went to salt rock and picked up a hoody. I have an obsession with these. My wardrobe is full but I didn’t have one in this colour and at £12.50 it was a must!

So some of these bits will last me till the summer months. I can’t wait to get back into dresses and shorts again! Roll on summer!

Aldi baby haul!

Not in the picture as they are in the dishwasher was 2 nuby beakers. £1.99 each.
